Introducing Season 12 of Standoff 2: Osiris!
The main part of this update is SO2 Remastered, a big technical upgrade for Standoff 2. The core gameplay hasn’t changed, but you’ll feel the new mechanics in your very first match.
Osiris also brings a new map, Pyramid, plus seasonal events like Battle Shop and Bingo, leaderboards, and more.
SO2 Remastered
The remastered version of the game moves Standoff 2 to a new client-server architecture. This also changes movement, character animations, and several other game systems.
Client-Server
One of the biggest changes in SO2 Remastered happens inside matches. Key game events are now controlled more reliably by the server, which improves hit registration, player sync, and connection stability.
The hitmarker works differently too: hits are now confirmed by the server. You can adjust it in your settings so you always see exactly when damage goes through.
You can also reconnect to the current round without your character dying. So even a dropped connection doesn’t always mean a lost round.
A stable connection still matters. The client-server won’t fix bad internet, but we’ll keep working on improving the network after this update.
Movement and Animations
The new movement system adds inertia when you stop or change direction. We also reworked strafing and crouching, and added bunnyhopping.
Characters have updated skeletons and animation. They have a straighter posture, and their movements in matches look different.
Other SO2 Remastered Changes
Dropped weapons now use new physics. They react to shots, knife hits, and explosions.
Updated player display and spectator mode
Updated killcam: it stays on your character and doesn’t reveal enemies.
On Android 11 and up, there’s a new Precise Aim Response feature. It makes touch controls more responsive and fixes jerky sensitivity. It may also increase device load and battery drain.
Anti-Cheat System
The new architecture gives us more ways to fight cheating. After moving to SO2 Remastered, some methods of gaining an unfair advantage no longer work.
Unfortunately, we can’t share details about how the anti-cheat works, since that would help cheaters. Work on protection will continue after this update. When it comes to countering cheaters, SO2 Remastered is an important step, not the final one.
Season 12 Maps
Pyramid
Season 12 adds a new Egyptian-themed map called Pyramid. It’s made for Team Deathmatch and other modes that use TDM maps.
Map Updates
Village has a new look and small layout changes.
Training Outside got a major visual overhaul, but the layout didn’t change.
Rust, Province, Hanami и Hanari got many small changes. Some improve comfort, some adjust position balance, and some make throwing grenades easier. See the video below for the full list of changes.
Calypso is leaving Standoff 2.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards are now in the game, letting you compare your rank with top Standoff 2 players and your friends.
Each of the three ranked modes has its own leaderboard: Competitive, Allies, and Duel. Each uses its own MMR, so rankings are separate.
The World tab shows the top 200 players in the world by MMR. To get on the global leaderboard, you need to complete calibration in that mode and reach account level 100.
If you meet both requirements but aren’t in the top 200, your row with your current MMR will still show up. Your exact rank outside the top 200 isn’t displayed.
In the Friends tab, you can compare your results with friends. There’s no 200-player limit and no minimum account level requirement.
Leaderboards don’t give out rewards.
Season 11 Rewards
After Season 11 Breakout ends, players will get up to three of 18 new charms: one for Competitive, one for Allies, and one for Duel.
Your reward is based on the highest rank your reached in that mode during the season:
Bronze: Bronze I–IV
Silver: Silver I–IV
Gold: Gold I–IV
Elite Gold: Phoenix, Ranger и Champion
Platinum: Master и Elite
Diamond: Legend
Battle Shop: Osiris
In Osiris, we’re trying something new with seasonal progression. Instead of a linear reward track, we have a Battle Shop. The event runs for four weeks.
How Battle Shop Works
Complete familiar missions, earn Golden Tickets, and spend them on the rewards you want. You can start saving tickets right away for what you really want.
Some items have purchase limits. If you don’t have enough Golden Tickets, the interface will show you where to get more.
Gold Pass
Gold Pass unlocks extra missions and premium rewards. You can also buy it with Gold.
If you complete Gold missions before buying the pass, you won’t lose those rewards. Your Golden Tickets are saved and will be added right after you buy the Gold Pass.
Osiris Medal
Medal progress depends on how many Golden Tickets you earn in total. Spend your tickets however you want. Your earned progress won’t go down.
There are six familiar medals here, from Bronze to Diamond. With the Free Pass, you can earn a Silver medal by completing all daily and weekly missions. Gold Pass holders can get a Gold medal just by completing all missions. No extra Golden Tickets needed.
Osiris Collection
The Weapon Case contains weapon skins and four knives. During the event, you can buy as many cases as you like. So lucky players might get more than one knife.
The second new container is the Style Pack. It includes different customization items: stickers, charms, and graffiti.
Osiris collection items won’t be on the Marketplace right away. The option to buy or sell them opens shortly after the event ends.
Bingo: Osiris
The Bingo: Osiris event is also live alongside the Battle Shop. There are nine missions on a 3x3 board. Complete them, make lines, and earn rewards.
How Bingo Works
Each completed cell earns you Coins. Complete three missions in a row, across or down, to make a line and unlock a bonus reward.
Bingo missions are tied to different update activities:
Earn XP
Complete weekly Battle Shop missions
Open containers from the Battle Shop
Log in during the event
Play ranked matches with a friend
Play Team Deathmatch on Pyramid
Win in Defuse
Earn Golden Tickets
Buy an item from the Offers section
Rewards
You can earn two bonus rewards for completing missions unrelated to a particular line:
M4 Bastet for completing two lines
M4 Bastet StatTrack for completing all nine missions
Please note that you need to claim your Bingo rewards before the event ends. If you complete a mission but don’t claim the reward, it won’t be given to you automatically after Bingo ends.
Bundles
Three Treasure Hunter items are available in a separate event section:
M9 Bayonet Treasure Hunter
G22 Treasure Hunter StatTrack
Sticker Treasure Hunter
Buy all three and get the Arcane Charm Treasure Hunter. You’ll be able to sell the charm on the Marketplace later.
New Bonus Agents
Two new Rare agents from the Standoff 2 Collection are now in the Bonus tab: Michael and Rafael. You can get them for free by playing Competitive. Each side has a different requirement:
Michael: Win 100 rounds on Defense.
Rafael: Win 100 rounds on Attack.
These missions have no time limit and won’t be removed next update, so you can complete them at your own pace. Track your progress in the Bonus tab. Rounds from private matches don’t count.
Once you meet the requirement, remember to claim the agent in the Bonus tab. Michael and Rafael can’t be sold on the Marketplace.
Small Changes
The Arms Race mode and some private lobby features are still in development for SO2 Remastered. They’ll be back in an upcoming update.
A new Legal Information section is now in settings, with links to the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and third-party licenses.
Molotov and Thermite now count as the same item for buying weapons. For example, if you’re a CT and save a Molotov you picked up, you can’t buy Thermite next round.
The My Data section is now called Account Data.
If you haven’t calibrated, your profile now shows: Not Calibrated instead of Rank Empty.
Region names have been updated.
The list of regions has changed. Many of the missing servers will be back soon.
