This winter update is going to be so much fun!
New Mode: Prop Hunt
Expect two teams: 2 Hunters vs. 5 Props. Each side scores victory points in its own unique way.
The Props
The Props’ goal is simple: hide from the Hunters and survive as long as possible.
Key game mechanics:
The hiding players can transform into objects on the map. When they tap the transformation button, they become a random nearby prop.
They can transform an unlimited number of times, but there’s a short cooldown.
At the start of the round, you have 15 seconds to hide before the Hunters start looking for you.
They can remain still if they use a special button, but they’ll still be able to rotate the camera.
A quick-time event (QTE) minigame will occasionally pop up. When that happens, tap the prompted buttons when the time is right. If you succeed, you’ll earn points. If you fail, your character will make a loud noise that alerts the Hunters.
The Props are equipped with a smoke grenade. They can only throw it at their feet, and when they do it, their movement speed will temporarily increase. The grenade cooldown is 30 seconds.
An eliminated Prop becomes a Hunter.
All Props have a third-person view.
The Hunters
The Hunters’ goal is to find and eliminate as many Props as they can.
Key game mechanics:
The Hunters choose their weapon loadout at the start of the round.
They lose HP if they shoot anything that’s not a Prop.
The Hunters restore HP overtime, and they also get their health back after eliminating a Prop.
The Hunters are equipped with a scanner they can use to locate a Prop and get some extra points.
A match lasts for 5 minutes or until all Props are eliminated. The player with the most points at the end wins.

Feel the Winter Vibe
It’s holiday time in Standoff 2!
We added many small but meaningful festive elements to the game:
Classic maps are returning
Ready for a blast from the past? This winter event temporarily brings back three legendary winter maps from earlier updates: Arena Land, Snow Village, and Accident is Outside. They’ll be playable in two modes, Team Deathmatch and Arms Race, and they’ll replace the original versions for the duration of the event.Festive characters
Check out these gorgeous winter looks! The costumes of our characters give off winter carnival vibes, from cute elf hats all the way to Santa himself!C-4 in a sweater
Now even the C-4 looks like a harmless winter gift. But the CTs will probably not be happy to find it under the tree among the other presents.
The festive characters and the C-4 in a sweater will make it into every unranked mode.
Gifts and the Winter Event
A two-part Winter Event begins in the game.
Gifts
Players can navigate to this section to get a few gifts:
A Crate from the new Valor collection as a reward for watching ads in the game
Daily personal discounts on select items in the Shop
A Gift Box, which is rewarded for logging into the game for a certain time period
Yes, the legendary and highly-requested Gift Box returns!
It’s a new version of the already familiar item. The contents are different but very original this time: inside, you’ll find containers listed in the Shop and items from the Nameless collection that’s grown a bit lately!
And the best part is that you can get your Gift Box just by logging into the game. Grab yours by logging into Standoff 2 for 14 days while the event lasts. And you don’t have to do it in a row. What’s important here is to make it in time before the event ends.
Board Game
The game mechanic of this event is pretty straightforward: roll the dice, move your chip across the board, and collect rewards.
And here are the board game rewards:
Unique skins, from Rare to Arcane
Festive Arcane charm
Revenge, Fable, Chameleon, and Dynasty cases, as well as cases from the new Valor collection
Shine, Vibe, Joy, Rainbow, and Splash graffiti & sticker packs
You can get more Dice in the Shop.
Valor Collection
We’ve already mentioned the new Valor collection a couple of times in this article.
It features 20 skins and 4 knives. M9 Bayonet knives are the most valuable items you can find inside.
This collection will offer cases as well as crates.
Please note that the new containers won’t be available for purchase in the Shop during the winter event. The Valor collection will be exclusively available as part of the event. You’ll be able to get cases as a reward for playing the board game, and it’ll be possible to claim crates in the Gifts section.
When the winter event is over, you’ll find the Valor cases and crates in the Shop.
You can list the skins from the Valor collection for sale on the Marketplace right now. Take advantage of their temporary exclusivity today and make some Gold!
As for the Revenge collection, it’s already leaving the Store. Still, you can get Revenge cases and boxes by progressing your Battle Pass or playing the board game.
And you’ll be able to put your Revenge containers up for sale about 2 weeks after the winter event ends.
Winter Tale Battle Pass
Introducing a new collection!
Elegant style meets winter vibes and pixel art. Collectors with good taste will definitely like the new items from the festive Battle Pass!
Knives are the biggest reward of the latest Battle Pass! Get one when you reach level 44 in your Free Pass (as a temporary reward). Enjoy a permanent one at level 45 in your Gold Pass.
All the items from the Winter Tale collection can be listed for sale on the Marketplace about 2 weeks after the festive Battle Pass ends.
Please note that this time Gold Pass can’t be purchased for Gold.
New Veteran Medals
We’re kicking off new Veteran progress on January 1!
Most of you know the Veteran progression mechanic very well, but in case you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s pretty straightforward : the more XP you get, the faster you gain more progress.
Grind that sought-after medal before 2025 ends, and get ready to claim new exciting rewards in 2026!
