Agents in Standoff 2: Everything You Need to Know

It’s been a long wait, and agents are finally here. This is a huge new system we’re rolling out step by step. For now, our top priority is keeping the game stable and balanced. And on this page, you’ll find the answers to your biggest questions about this new feature.

Why Only Two Agents Right Now?

This is just the beginning. We launched with two agents to test things out. Right now, we want to make sure models, skins, and gloves load and run correctly on every device. More agents are coming in the future. That’s when you’ll really get to see the variety we’ve been working on.

Why Can’t I Pick an Agent During a Match?

For now, agents are only displayed in the lobby. Try on skins and gloves and get their look just right on the agent loadout customization screen. We’re taking this step by step. Our team wants to make sure everything runs smooth before sending new agents into battle. The future big updates will let you play as your chosen agents in matches. And they’re coming soon.

When Will New Agents Arrive and How Do I Unlock Them?

New agents are coming in the upcoming big updates. And we’re planning lots of different ways to get them. Look out for in-game events, collections, and special activities. Keep an eye on our social media. We’ll announce how to unlock each new agent as they drop!

What Happens to the Old Characters on Maps?

We’re saying goodbye to the old character models. They won’t be in the game anymore with this new system. But here’s some good news. Some of those classic characters you’re used to will be back. Not right away, but eventually they’ll return as full fledged agents with all the detail you’d expect.

Will We Get Deep Customization Options (Faces and Clothes)?

Deep customization isn’t something we’re planning anytime soon because it’s really tricky from a technical standpoint. But there’s another reason too. Keeping characters easy to recognize matters. Their silhouettes need to stand out on any map. It keeps the game fair. So for now, we’re focusing on getting that balance right.
