Why Some Devices Don’t Have Medium and/or High Graphics Settings

Written by Marika

In update 0.38.1, we added an auto graphics adjustment system. It picks the best settings for your device. This helps reduce lag, overheating, and crashes.

Now the game checks your device and figures out:

  • the recommended graphics settings for you

  • the highest quality level you can choose in the settings menu

On some devices, Medium and/or High options may not be available. That’s not a bug. It’s a limit to keep the game running smoothly.

How the available graphics level is determined

On iOS, the available graphics level is based on RAM:

  • Low — 2 GB of RAM or less

  • Medium — 3 GB of RAM

  • High — more than 3 GB of RAM

On Android, we look at both RAM and the GPU model:

  • Low — 3 GB of RAM or less, or an older GPU model

  • Medium — 4 GB of RAM or less, or a mid-range GPU from older generations

  • High — all other superior devices

What changed in the settings

The game now has three graphics quality levels: Low, Medium, and High. The Very Low setting has been removed.

How this change affects the gameplay

You can lower your graphics settings at any time. But you can’t raise them above what your device can handle. We introduced this feature to improve your gaming experience.

If the settings you selected before the update are no longer supported, they’ll automatically adjust to the best available option.

If you think your device specs were detected incorrectly, please contact our support at help.standoff2.com. We’ll look into it as quickly as we can.
